Telecom Regulatory Authority of India(TRAI), the goverment sector renamed National Do Not Call Registry to National Customer Preference Registration (NCPR). With NCPR service you can block or stop unwantedpromotional calls to your preference. You can stop all promotional calls/SMS completely or partially choose up to 7 categories.
How to Stop Commercial Calls / SMS in your Phone?
NCPR service lets you to block unwanted promotionals as per your preference in three ways.
1. By Free SMS
To register your mobile number in NCPR registry, you can do by simply sending a free SMS.
• SMS START 0 to 1909 to completely block or fully register.
• START 1 to receive promotional SMS from Banking/ Insurance /Financial products/Credit cards.
• START 2 to receive promotional SMS to Real Estate
• START 3 to receive promotional SMS Education.
• START 4 to receive promotional SMS Health.
• START 5 to receive promotional SMS Consumer goods and automobiles.
• START 6 to receive promotional SMS Communication /Broadcasting /Entertainment /IT./IT.
• START 7 to receive promotional SMS Tourism and Leisure.
You can select multiple options for example, START 1,2,5. After then sending your SMS, a confirmation message will arrive shortly. You have to reply the confirmation message as well. Your phone number will be updated within 45 days in NCPR database.
2. By Call
Subscribers may dial the toll free number 1909 and register your number through IVRS method. Alternatively you can call customer care number from your phone and tell them. They can easily record your preference.
3. By Online:
There is another way to register your mobile number in NCPR record through online. Go to your mobile number’s service provider website like Aircel, Airtel, Vodafone and they may given the option for registering your number via online.
How to Deregister your number in NCPR?
You may cancel this service at any time only after the 90 days of from date of registration. To deregister your phone number in NCPR registry and you wanted to receive commercial calls or SMS, do the following.
• SMS STOP to 1909 to fully de-activate
• STOP 1 to not to receive promotional SMS from Banking/ Insurance /Financial products/Credit cards.
• STOP 2 to not to receive promotional SMS to Real Estate.
• STOP 3 to not to receive promotional SMS Education.
• STOP 4 to not to receive promotional SMS Health.
• STOP 5 to not to receive promotional SMS Consumer goods and automobiles.
• STOP 6 to not to receive promotional SMS Communication /Broadcasting /Entertainment /IT.
• STOP 7 to not to receive promotional SMS Tourism and Leisure.
